22:15 - Dust
In March 2025 adrien (as Dust) performed selected tracks from their upcoming debut album And If You Look... in a preview showcase as part of the Lighthouse Young Creatives (LYC) programme. AIYL: Live leans heavily into the dramatic and theatrical aspects of the music, with elaborate costuming, set design and even a hybrid armour-piece instrument; all handmade to immerse the audience in the world of the performance. The work was a culmination of 6 months of exploration, collaboration and creation on LYC with support from friends, co-participants and mentors in developing the performance.
Embodying the role of the Herald (or the Soothsayer), Dust transported the audience into a post climate-collapse world, interrogating them - and themselves - on their role in its creation while holding their collective grief, guilt, detatchment, and anger, balanced by the edges of regrowth. The audio itself was mixed in surround sound, with speakers placed around the edges of the performance space to immerse the audience; they were also invited in towards the performance area and encouraged to sit or lay down on pillows, partially enclosing Dust to further break down the barriers between the audience and the performance.
Attendees described the experience as 'transfixing', 'like nothing [they'd] seen before,' and 'an almost religious experience'.
21:00 - Floralis
Hailing from Brighton’s anarchist movement and queercore scene, Floralis is a trans artist/producer/community organiser who incorporates elements of hip hop, art pop and post-hardcore into her bizarre blend of electro punk. Drawing from the influences of artists such as Bjork, The Cure, the Midwest Emo scene, and her Trinidadian heritage, Floralis’s music captures the raw punk energy she has gained from her years of fronting hardcore bands with an electronic blend.
